I figure 500 years is a good number, would let me see somethings that I wouldn't otherwise see and I could perform some cross generational experiments.

If during that time I found a good reason to I might concider either reducing or increasing my life span. Oh of course on the caviate that I don't age beyond 40 years of apparent age. I would perfer an apparent age closer to 25-30 years.

Would need to keep in good shape, oh and while were on it, I would probably need to go into hibernation for a few weeks ever 25 years or so... otherwise I don't know if I could take it psychologically. As it is I get the urge to do a periodic system shut down and maintain session, sadly I don't have the capacity to do so at current.

I'd like a good deal of time for myself to understand my goals and perhaps fulfill them.

Hence, I cannot put a fix on the amount of time for which I wan't to live... It may be 500 or 500,000,000 years.

And what if I just get too tired of life?

I chose immortality. Then I can choose to end my life when I wish to - unless someone does it for me. B)
I also chose immortality; Eternity will grant enough time to solve all problems, satisfy all longings, attain unto the loftiest of goals, and find peace everlasting................Infy

I picked immortality too. One less thing to worry about, I guess. Plus, with the magic of compound interest I would withing a few hundred years be rich beyond my wildest dreams.

On a side note, I am already immortal. I happen to to be subject to accidental death though. That is why I always look before I cross the street. B)

The same way we all are immortal, only there are 10001 factors in the world that may lead to our death.

I'm thinking: what if we remove all body damaging factors? Will it possible to be potentially immortal then?

Only if we can survive the end of our universe. B)

The way I see it, you would be rich probably as long as the first century. Then money would have no meaning and the society would produce everything it could ever need or want (Marx). The means of production only grows and the pool of availible resources only increases. Soon enough we won't have to work for our goods, our tools and goods will produce themselves and so on and so on, ad infinium.

Practicially what this means is this: Infinite (or near infinite) supply and limited demand means ultimately that the price of various items will be zero or near zero.

With exception of major world war and subsequent destruction of massive ammounts of infra-structure, our means of production will only increase.

And when the hourglass has run out, the hourglass of temporality, when the noise of secular life has grown silent and its restless or ineffectual activism has come to an end, when everything around you is still, as it is in eternity, then eternity asks you and every individual in these millions and millions about only one thing: whether you have lived in despair or not.

I clicked on immortality. I believe when it's over , it's over. I don't think there is any kind of afterlife. So why would I want to stop being?

Now if all of the lifeforms on earth were immortal, and they didn't get any smater than they are now, I suppose tomorrow would be a good time to wander off this screwed up sphere.:Alien:

Can't wait for the day when I'm just physically exhausted to the point where I slip into my subconscious, never again to resurface groaning underneath a fan, drooling.

Yeah that's how I also feel when I wake up. Sometimes you just wish you never were born... and feel too chicken to end it yourself.

But there are other times when you just wanna pick immortality. (Eg: after breakfast)
