Everybody Has an Opinion

Opinions are ideas that we grab as they are flying by in the mind at the time the need for an opinion exists.

Considered opinions are based upon some thought and study; they are developed before the need for an opinion exists or after the need exists but the response is delayed until due consideration is accomplished.

Judgments are conclusions reached after careful study and analysis. Judgments are hard to come by and represent the best that is available in the mind at the time needed. Judgments I suspect are often things of pride because they represent my understanding of a matter—they represent what I am about.

Sophomoric judgments: sophomoric—conceited and overconfident of knowledge but poorly informed and immature. A sophomoric judgment is created at a special time in a person’s life, it comes after the individual has gained some knowledge, often extensive knowledge, but the individual is not yet a mature adult. It is a phase of life for many of us and apparently just comes naturally. I suspect it is an egocentric impulse that cannot be denied.

I suspect most of us have had the sophomore ecastasy.

My opinion is that no one truely has opinions. Just ways of saying what has been made obvious to them. If these obviouses are said in a way that can be understood and accepted by the masses, it will be considered a truth. All instences of misunderstanding prove the obvious as not obvious, therefore rejected as a truth and catagorized as false or just plan crazy talk. This might be just to spite the "opinionee." Which brings me to another point that the truth is out there, it's just not obvious to everyone.

I'd say keep your opinions to yourself, but what I want to say is; keep what you can't make obvious to me, to yourself.

I hope I made myself clear on this, but I'm sure it sounds a bit shady. HI OH.

Interesting exchange of words indeed! :)

In my opinion, opinions are formed, just like thoughts, as a result of mental experiences of an individual. Mental experiences by definition depend on the mental states. But, what determines the mental state of an individual at various moments of his/her experiencing self, is an open question.

Because different individuals are in different mental state at different times, so even though they may hear, see the same event; the way they assimiliate the information in their mental framework is often different.

Thus looking at it from, what I would like to call a neutral standpoint, I would say there is some substance in the opinions of both coberst as well as darkcolouredlight. But, how they will recieve my opinions depends on their mental states while they read this paragraph. :)

That would have to depend on my state of mind. If I want to understand, I will. If I don't want to understand, I won't. But, what if I don't want to accept what I understand? Even worst, what if I don't want to accept what I don't understand?

I assume when the latter happens I call my uncle sam and he beats up your dad. Right?

Yet another HI OH,

Don't be afraid of confusion, only when you get confused can you get further insight! :)

I've already discovered the glories of confusing myself. Pro being the opposite of con, I try to profuse myself after I'm done confusing myself. Then, I try to just fuse myself with others, that is, if I don't confuse them. :) :hoho:

1. suppose there exist one or more people who agree with your opinion

2. in such a case, not everyone disagrees with your opinion

3. you are not me, therefore you are not everyone

4. as you are not everyone, by sentence 2, you disagree with your own opinion

5. as this is a contradiction, it is impossible for there to exist anyone who agrees with your opinion
