a lot of my best realizations have come when i am tripping. its annoying when people try to convince me that they are inadiquate for this reason. who is to say what is authenitc?

I smoked weed, among other things, a long time ago. What seems profound when stoned becomes irreverently stupid when sober.

Yes, Hypography has seen a lot of diversifying but some of our members are very good at taking this to mean "so then I can discuss anything I like regardless of whatever".

 

This is still a science forum. Posting in the watercooler does not mean that our rules don't apply. Discussing drugs to show how cool it is, is *not* condoned by myself and the forum staff. We are working on ways to deal with it.

Ever sat in a bar sober, working your way through your first beer, and some drunken idiot tries to tell you his take on Life, the Universe and Everything? He's probably experiencing some sort of epiphany, but that's his story. He cannot recant his experience to me, or any other sober person, in any fashion that approaches what might be called even remotely coherent or understandable. Now maybe you should read this again when tripping, and you might even realise what we're trying to do here.

look, tormod, i like this place. i like the people here. i was just trying to make a point. i mean, you could ban me...it would make me sad....but you could do it. im just noticing argument, and its no good. i thought that most of the drug talk going on here was on the stoned ape theory. that actually does hold real water in science. i didnt know i was involved in discussion that was saying "hey you little kids go take drugs!". while i do think taht some are good for humanity when used correctly, i also understand that some minds cannot handle them. i believe that it is a personal decision, what you do and dont do is up to you. nobody else. at least,that is how it is if you are REALLY free. we all control ourselves.

 

and faction is just a damn word. dont take it too literally.

I'm sick and tired of seeing people talk about mushrooms, getting stoned and posting about their trips. I don't care what people do in their lives (well, I do) but I do care a lot about how they behave here.

Tartanism, I think the issue here is that it is not responsible to create threads that condone drug taking. I'm sure young people must come to this forum. Young people are impressionable.

As members of Hypography we cannot ban drugs but we can be responsible about how we talk about it and how we communicate drug usage.

i am sorry about your health problems, but do you have significant evidence to support that it is in any way marijuana related??

 

If you're suggesting that my heart problems are derived from something else, then you are mostly correct. But the point I'm trying to make is, smoking excesive amounts of marijuana in my youth definately didn't help. Infact, it only encouraged my current heart problems further.

 

So, yes, among other things, it is marijuana related.
