Tarantism Posted September 5, 2006 Author Report Posted September 5, 2006 totally man! and i was disappointed when the mouth of sauron was not in the third movie, even though he has such a small part, its important to have him because they are supposed to think that frodo has perished. have you seen the extended versions though? the MOS is in that one. hes funny, and for some reason he sounds kinda french... Quote
Jay-qu Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Ahh I guess you never saw the extended version? over 4 hours for the last movie :D The mouth is in that version  Quote
TheBigDog Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Please gentlemen. This is a poll and discussion of Star Wars. Please keep on topic. If you wish to discuss Lord of the Rings start another thread on that topic. :D :hihi: :hyper:  :eek_big:   :eek2: :hihi:  The other thing that disappointed me was that they took one of Gandolf's only obvious uses of Magic away from him in the scene with the mouth. In the book he used his power to snatch Frodo's beongings away from the mouth saying that they did not belong to him. In the movie I think the mouth either just shows them or hands them across. learnin to learn Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 awesome! I have read all the books at least twice and I read the middle earth encyclopedia, and a lot of other stuff! The movies were great but I did expect more! Quote
EWright Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 I was always sort of ho-hum about Queen Amadala, until seeing Natalie Portman's "bad-*** side" in her Saturday Night Live rap video skit thingy (even though it wasn't great)... Now she's just #@(%!*& hot! Watch it here: http://www.nbc.com/Video/videos/snl_1439_natalieraps.shtml Quote
TheBigDog Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 #3 has just turned 10, and has gone on a Star Wars kick. For his birthday all he wanted was "the first Star Wars movie" which for him means Episode I. His favorite character? ... ... Jar Jar Binks. The guilt! The shame! Where have I gone wrong as a father? I will be over here trying to put the pieces of my life back together. Bill Quote
Southtown Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 My parenting skills must be unparalleled... my son's favorite character at the age of 5 is Asajj Ventress. Quote

Buffy Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 At some point you have to let go and realize that they make their own decisions. Sometimes those decisions are life threatening. Maybe it will do him some good to get beaten up in the school yard when he announces this foolish fetish of his. It could be worse of course: he could have a crush on Princess Leia, then you'd have competition.... It's all my parents fault,Buffy Quote
IDMclean Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 I quite liked Darth Sidious myself. Though if we are talking extended universe, post and pre saga stories... well that makes it allot harder. What most miss out on about the emperor is that he is so much more than just some politician. He's a bonafide Sith Lord. The Jedi have the Mind Trick, Sith Lords have Insidious Compulsion. I loved that you got to see it used hardcore in the third movie, when Darth Sidious forces Anakin to Submit to his will and become Darth Vader. I think the significance of that scene was lost upon the non-nerd fans. I also love how Sidious is so wrong that he survived even the the destruction of the Death Star in the sixth movie and was only finally put to rest by Leia in defense of her unborn child latter on in the stories. Got to love the really Evil bad guy. Makes the really Good good guy look better. Quote
Buffy Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Got to love the really Evil bad guy. Makes the really Good good guy look better.Heck he makes Jar Jar look better.... I must admit, I've never understood Star Wars: goes right over my head...Dune neither. My grandma always loved SciFi, but she always dismissed Star Wars as "space opera," so I guess its genetic. Robot roll call, :phones:Buffy Quote
Tormod Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Princess Leia...oooh...my first movie romance... :phones: Quote
