lets see, highlights:

>Offline Favorites and Scheduled Offline Favorites have been removed

...

>Internet Explorer 7 disables Dynamic HTML

WTH?

>The new Internet Explorer 7 ActiveX Opt-In feature disables ActiveX

finally.... took them long enough

>All CDF support was removed

somehow that does not surprise me

>All DLLs to support the Internet Explorer DirectAnimation component were removed

lol

>Support for XBM, an imaging format designed for X-based systems, was deleted

still does not surprise me

>Support for weak SSL ciphers was removed from Windows Vista and support for SSLv2 was disabled

will the new IE support HTML?

>Some cosmetic changes

to make it look more like FF

>Internet Explorer 7 strictly enforces the BASE element rule

finally they started to comply with some standards

>Modal or modeless dialogs created from script in Internet Explorer 7 might seem to be slightly bigger than their Internet Explorer 6 counterparts

>window.prompt script method is blocked

this is a security enhancement thing.

>cookies can no longer be overwritten from scripts

...

>The view-source protocol no longer works

does doubleclicking on the icon work now?

>Support for the Gopher protocol was removed at the WinINET level

whatever

>The Telnet protocol handler is no longer supported in Internet Explorer

wow, that took a while, huh?

>The SysImage URL Scheme has been removed from Internet Explorer

another minor security increase

>prompt that will inform the user that their clipboard is being accessed by script

took them long enough...

my conclusion *shakes his head*...

Ya well, I work for a giganto-corp as well, and it's actually rare that you see smart decisions being made. Because when the grunts do what the management tells them and the bottom line is then negatively effected, the upper management is only capable of throwing another layer of middle management at the problem.

Unfortunately, management has no clue because they don't actually work next to the grunts. All they do is read reports and have meetings. Too bad they make all the money, huh?
