Michaelangelica Posted December 15, 2008 Author Report Posted December 15, 2008 A Lady/Journalist/gardener from Melbourne (look it up lazy Yanks) who seems to be having similar problems to me re-grey water. I suspect detergent formulations are made in Europe or other areas with "hard" water and so the salts are a problem especially with acid-loving plants or Australian Natives Perhaps the answer is to buy the expensive? formulation I mentioned previouslyThe trouble with greywater Extra hoses are still a big part of my life to access water from the tank, the washing machine and a wheelie bin.But I've decided against using greywater from the washing machine anymore even though I use a good eco powder which shouldn't cause problems. But some plants are very unhappy with it.Two lovely lavender bushes in pots by the pool only received greywater and they look quite seedy. A few other plants have turned up their toes so I'm suspicious..The Age Blogs: Pottering By Quote
