Most people have only the glimmering of an understanding of economics, of history, of the ways in which business operates. I have no problem with that, but I believe when educated, thoughtful people discuss a topic it is incumbent on them to do so from a more considered viewpoint. Boerseun - so little time. Taxi waiting to whisk me to the airport. Two quick points, which I shall return to if this is still alive in a few days.1. There has never been a communist state on the planet. Russia froze the progress towards communism at the socialism stage. 2. I don't think the Victorian reference is a strawman. Tell you what - I'll start a thread in Biology in a week or two addressing the over emphasis in the popular mind (and the mind of many scientists for that matter) of the competitive aspects of evolution.
