On a little lighter note..........don't we all sound a bit weird talking about the science of piss-sniffing?........................Infy

Ohhhhh well....

:hihi:

I suppose it's not the most scientific discussion, but I was just reading a description of a "urine analyzer" for sale.

Now that would be scientific. That raises just two questions; How many cents for what range of scents?....................Infy

You are one rockin' lady indeed, Chac...

I am curious if there is a difference between fresh asparagus and canned asparagus? Anyone care to sign up for the experiment and report back? :hihi:

A Double blind study

I ate a jar of pickled asparagus last night. I didn't notice any smell.

Then, I had drunk a bottle of port

From memory tinned asparagus pee does smell

In my estimation, by and large, the fair sex has the superior sense of smell.

There are some studies which suggest that women tend to have a more keen sense of smell as well as more acute vision and perception of color. Evolutionary psychologists have a theory that (and sorry ladies, not my theory :) ) in our ancestral past it has tended to be the women who have reared the children. Their ability to pick up on slight variations of color and smell allowed them to sense when their child was becoming ill much sooner and take action to assist before it was too late...

Perriwinkle blue... that's all I'm sayin'.

Cheers. :hihi:

Most professional perfumers "Noses" would be men.

(Women just complain about smells more!)

I think all noses can be trained.

What limits us often is our ability to express smell in words. The language is very poor in this area and we have to use similes.

Men sometimes specialise in one area of smell- i.e., wine

Chinese herbalists still use the sense of smell to diagnose.

Dogs can be trained to detect cancers. Some scientists from Sydney Uni are trying to develop a machine to do the same.

Any man-made machine would be inferior to the human nose.

I ate asparagus for an entire day! I would rate the smell a 7.5!

So we'll say that's a five. Despite the self perceived intensity, the scale proposed stops at 5...

Thanks for sharing your data though! :estrange: ... I think.... :Guns:

A quirky P fact

It is only necessary to consume a teaspoonful or two in a glass of water. The way you serve it is ultimately up to you—either with a little splash of fruit juice or plain. Enjoy the natural tanginess of urine.

Along with the flu, urine treats a variety of other viral infections including the common cold.

It has also been seen to treat asthma and skin conditions, such as, well what do you know, eczema!
