TheBigDog Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 I hereby declare Sept 21st to be Quality Posting Appreciation Day. To participate take the time to give positive rep. It doesn't have to be a new post. It doesn't have to be a person's greatest post. It is an acknowledgement of appreciation of that person's total contribution to the Forums. You can rep up to ten people in a day. Are there ten people you feel deserve a tip of the hat for the consistant quality of their contributions? Take some extra time today and let them know. If you hit your limit of ten let us know it here! Bill Cedars, Jay-qu and ronthepon 3 Quote

Mercedes Benzene Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 I've tried to give rep to about 6 of the best (imho) posters, but it says that I have to spread the rep around first before I can give any more to these individuals. :hihi: Quote

Jay-qu Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 maybe there is something about them.. when you get to 10,000 rep they turn gold  Quote
TheBigDog Posted September 22, 2006 Author Report Posted September 22, 2006 The blue boxes are a feature that can be adjusted. The boxes and the phrase associated are driven by your actual rep points. The way it is set right now you get the maximum boxes at 2000 points. The feature is configurable, but to my knowledge has a limited number of catagories. Perhaps there is a hack that can be installed to provide more catagories and bring more game to the boxes. Tormod Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 We could also simply remove the boxes and put a number there instead... Quote
TheBigDog Posted September 22, 2006 Author Report Posted September 22, 2006 We could also simply remove the boxes and put a number there instead...With the current method of repping the numbers that we have are growing at an increasing rate. Is this an issue? What happens a year from now when there are a dozen people with rep over 500, and one tip of the hat from one of them give people 10 additional points to award? Commendation from 5 of them would give you 50 rep power, something that took half a year just 8 months ago. Should we regulate the amount of points awarded to prevent a geometric increase in the reps? I would suggest that you award the square root of your rep power, rather than you full rep power. This would help control the growth, if that is something we want to do. In the mean time I am continuing to give it away. My list from yesterday is far from complete. Bill Quote
