Hello truly bright people,

I am lost when it comes to mathematics, physics, et al. I honor those who can compute such things. I beg for mercy and assistance.

I am the office manager in a general contractor's office. He occassionally asks me to come up with numbers and I haven't a clue as to the correct way to do this.

Today, for example, he wanted me to calculate this scenario:

There is a room of 1400 square feet. It has a door with 2 square inches of clearance around the bottom. What would be the rate of water flow necessary to fill this room 18 inches deep in 8 hours? 10 hours? How many gallons of water would the room then contain?

Please take pity on me!
