JimmieKeyes Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 I went this AM to check in to the CFI forums where I'm a moderator and found this error message Warning: mysql_connect(): Too many connections in /usr/local/www/vhosts/cfi-forums.org/htdocs/db/mysql4.php on line 48 Warning: mysql_error(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /usr/local/www/vhosts/cfi-forums.org/htdocs/db/mysql4.php on line 330 Warning: mysql_errno(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /usr/local/www/vhosts/cfi-forums.org/htdocs/db/mysql4.php on line 331 phpBB : Critical Error I looked at the mail and found my co-moderator had sent me the same errors and said he got them on trying to enter the website. I've been trying to suggest as strongly as I know how that the software for the forums should be changed to a program that has built in protections such as this one. But the software they use is free and they felt the money was better spent elsewhere. What I think is happening is the website is under a denial of service attack. Does anyone have any thoughts or other conclusions? I am not an expert on this sort of software but have seen denial of service attacks before.Jim Quote
Tormod Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 It's running phpBB. Whoever is in charge of the technical aspects of that forum needs to update it and patch it regularly. The error you posted shows that the MySQL database is unavailable, or the information provided to the server is incorrect. Quote
JimmieKeyes Posted October 4, 2006 Author Report Posted October 4, 2006 Thanks Tormod, I hope to be able to make worthwhile contributions to this forum regularly. It serves a great purpose.Jim:shade: Quote
