Do you think that asteroid mining is a good way to increase supply of resources used in production such as metals?

Did you read the article? It flatly stated that metals like platinum might very well do just that:

To be sure, there are lucrative near-term opportunities, such as platinum from metal-rich asteroids. But bulkier materials such as copper and iron ore are long set to remain the domain of Earth's well-established mining industry, experts said. Instead, the evolution of space mining will likely be a slow burn, gaining thrust as space exploration expands and extraterrestrial industry and supply chains emerge.

It states that bulkier metals like copper and iron would not be likely to do so because of the expense of transferring them to Earth. Materials mined in space would be far more valuable for extraterrestrial use than for Earth uses.
