CraigD Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 Hawking radiation goes along with Layer Theory. Hawking radiation occurs at the same time that Layer Theory occurs in a universe.I don’t see any way that Hawking radiation and LT could be compatible. Per LT, we haveA big bang occurs by sucking in everything that a finite universe contains through the black holes and then releasing it again. This is consistent with observations indicating that star-mass black holes are combining into supermassive black holes in galactic centers, a process that theoretically will continue until all matter is in the form of black holes (or perhaps a single black hole) – the “sucking in everything that a finite universe contains” predicted by LT. Hawking radiation, however, predicts that, when or before all of the universe’s matter is sucked into black holes, black holes will begin loosing mass by converting it into photons outside of the black holes, a process that theoretically will continue until the universe consists entirely of photons. This is the currently most widely accepted description of the heat death of the universe predicted by the theory of thermodynamics. Hawking radiation is a predicted consequence of quantum mechanics. Although Boerseun asserts… Hawking radiation exists in conventional physics only hypothetically. It's never been observed or proven to exist, so I guess "Layer Theory" shouldn't bother to cater for it - nobody knows whether it's realI don’t believe this assertion to be entirely accurate. Although a direct observation of Hawking radiation requires a “tame, naked” black hole, so is unlikely to made, the underlying phenomena required by it – gravitational attraction and pair production, have been observed. For LT to be true, it needs to modify or set aside quantum mechanics so that QM no longer predicts Hawking radiation. I suspect that before this can be done, it’ll be necessary to include gravity in the quantum mechanics – the “holy grail” of “theories of everything” such as string theory. Until this is done, current best physics contradicts the requirement of LT that everything in the finite (layer 1) universe be sucked into black holes (layer 2 and 3) for a big bang to occur. hallenrm 1 Quote
CraigD Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 Somebody please explain to me all the types of matter that black holes suck in please in a reply. :eek_big: (Including all the theoretical ones.)As a consequence of General Relativity, black holes are predicted to suck in not only matter (roughly, fermions), but energy (photons) as well. So you’re effectively asking for an explanation of everything that exists. As it sounds, this is a big question, with a long (and incomplete) answer. As a good place to start, I’d recommend the Standard Model, which is easier to understand on a high level than many people assume. As you do, keep in mind that, at present, as I alluded to in my previous post, the Standard Model has not yet successfully explained gravity, a very serious deficiency when applying it to such things as black holes and all of the matter in the universe.ALL FOR ONE, ONE FOR ALL - The Three Musketeers! That's the spirit! ;) Quote
leuv21 Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 anyone tried or read about meditation?? has anyone been aware of the different layers that the reality couts.in geneva in the year 2000, there had been and expreriment proving that time does not exist... bringing the fact that time is a relative subject with respect to the associated dimention. The universe is made up of many layers but i sincerely think that it is practically impossible to just bring about constructive proof about the layer theory. Maybe mathematically, we ought to find out that this subject is really a reality. i feel that within meditation of our subconscious mind can help someone to feel get a complte grasp of the laers present cause with this aspect ime does not exist and you get the common factor. InfiniteNow Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 anyone tried or read about meditation?? Yep... i feel that within meditation of our subconscious mind can help someone to feel get a complte grasp of the laers present cause with this aspect ime does not exist and you get the common factor.leuv21, While we welcome expression of ideas on Hypography, I'm pretty sure that the astronomy and cosmology forum is not the best place for discussions on the subconscious mind and meditation. Please try to stick to the point of the thread whereever possible, and if your response was intended as a constructive comment on the details of the theory proposed, perhaps you could be clearer as to how. Cheers. Quote
