Of late, evolution has been a favorite topic in Hypography;)

But most often when we talk about evolution, we are talking about extinct species or primitive communities over several centuries and that too in the context of Darwin's Theory.

Lets experience a change. Lets talk about personal evolution amongst the community of Hypography, in past few years.

Let me explain! I am about to complete a year here, and I can indeed feel that I have evolved in this period intellectually and socially. When I reflect back, I can see a perceptible change in the nature of my posts (behavior) and my reactions to others as I can perceive in many peers around.

Do you agree?

(I think posts in this thread by the experienced old timers and encourage and induce freshers to stay longer:) )

While it hasn't been a year for me yet, I have gained knowledge, and more importantly, wisdom at Hypography.

I want to thank everyone for the rational discusion and wide variety of topics.

Cheers to you all!

My early posts were very different...I have indeed grown a lot since being here, some from here, some from other influences. I have learned that not being able to disprove something is not the same as being able to prove it. I have learned that Intelligent Design has definite logic behind it (but no science), and evolution itself is an ungoverned intelligent process. I have learned more about the process and ideas behind scientific thought. I have learned better how to disagree with someone without trying to convince them that I am right.

I don't even know what to say. Like pgrmdave I have changed a lot. Less cocksure, more open for new ideas. And I have learned that first impressions are not always correct - people are full of surprises.

Ditto to all of the above. Fresh perspectives are good things, indeed. :cup:

What I notice most is my ability to articulate thoughts to those around me, for example, in meetings or in a group of friends, has improved tremendously. I better understand the required tenets of a well supported position, as well as holes in those positions when they are present. Perhaps most importantly, I know better what my own stance is on various topics and can spend more time understanding the stances of others. :)

By George, there's hope for you yet Tormod.

It is quite revealing to go back and read former posts, causes one to feel a bit juvenile at times. But considering my age, that's not all bad. At the age of 64, I am encouraged to find that I can still learn new things. From my experience here at Hypography, the greatest lessons I've learned involve becoming better at recognizing my own faults and learning to appreciate others more honestly. It's been extremely rewarding........................Infy

I too have improved my ability to appreciate the faults of others more honestly and find it extremely rewarding as well. :)
