These are some of the most fundamental questions that we aspiring scientists grapple with every day. It's right up there with black holes.

 

So, without further ado, I present to you the list of all Hypo members with more than a thousand posts logged to date (26/10/2006). It will be fun to create another list a couple of months down the line, to see what changed...

Yep. That's how I got it. But that list is dynamic, I wanted a 'snapshot', if you will, to be compared a month from now with the new readout.

Right! It's now officially a few months down the line. So let's see what happened! Who's the biggest movers and shakers on the Hypo tree? Who fell out of the bus? Who got gum in their hair?

 

On 26/10/2006, I made the first snapshot. It is now 6/6/2007, a whole 223 days later. Here's the original list with the original placing. After the original post count, is the new post count plus new position on the log. Like this:

Racoon has the unique feature of being the only member at hypo with a lower post count today than 223 days ago. According to the stats, he has a negative average of almost a post a day, but he's still in the 12th position. Rac, if you quit deleting your posts, you'd be in the lead soon!

 

The highest climber (in rank) is ... drum roll ... Michaelangelica! He jumped the queue an amazing 12 places, from 26th place a mere 223 days ago, to 14th place today! This was achieved with an average post count of 6.47 posts per day, cataputling him from obscurity into the limelight! You really do suffer from diarrhoea of the keyboard!

 

The most prolific poster during the past 223 days, of course, would be InfiniteNow, with an amazing 9.37 posts per day. You need to get a life! This, of course, says nothing about bored-to-death idjits who actually keep track of these things...

 

Then, of course, we have dead accounts of old members who were loved all round, but who simply disappeared since the first snapshot was taken. These folks are still in the top 30 list, but didn't submit a single post in the last 223 days. They are:

Used XL2003. Worked with text to columms, and you might have to clean it up a little.

That's what I used, but I didn't want to attach the data in a file. I wanted the list to be part of the post. I've got an .xls file that I just copied and pasted sections, and then just spaced them with periods.

 

But hey - post some more and you might even make the next one!
