civichbca91 Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 Hi there, I was wondering if it is at all possible to get a previous logon password for windows xp. In other words, let's say my pass was "thispass", then i changed it to "thatpass", then i removed the password completley. Is it possible for me to recover "thispass" if I do not know what it is? civichbca91 Posted November 4, 2006 Author Report Posted November 4, 2006 Thanks, that's all I needed to know. Now then, how to convince someone that I didn't delete their password to access their account, but that I accidentally downloaded a virus that deleted his password. *Thinks hard* Quote
alexander Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 it can possibly be a posibility, if you had some extreme million dollar machinery to read off weak magnatic charges, a team of scientists and months of time... Quote
Southtown Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 Yeah, hun. I accidentally downloaded a virus that sent your harddrive to a clean room for analysis. Quote
C1ay Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 There is the possibility of convincing them that they suffer some psychological condition where you could take them for treatment to a hyponotist you've previously bribed to who'll try and extract this info.... Quote
Boerseun Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Was the password the machine's local password, or is this machine part of a domain? Quote
alexander Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 local most probably, B :) I've actually been wondering why noone has written a virus that will use win driver for sata to lock the drive with a random password... wouldnt that bee hilarious? but yeah, i've recovered quite a few passwords, as well as reset quite a few, so i would say, resset the password and say that the virus deleted her password :) Quote
