Turtle I gues I gave you something to dream about! :D

So it seems! You have allowed my megalomania to blossom.:)

Hot air balloon? Not sure about finding proper cloth though.

The King's silks will do nicely for your excellent balloon proposition. May I suggest we fill it with Hydrogen manufactured by the electrolysis of water using my Ark? (multitendre use of 'ark' implies the biblical Ark of the Covenant reference as well as a spark, and I will call the balloon (dirigible) an 'Ark of the Sky' to get Noah's ark reference, thus making my power, overarching.)

How to impress? Playing a trick or two can grab attention but isn't enough, you'll need to find which of their real problems you are able to solve. If however the king is willing to believe you but asks for evidence, plenty of knowledge is likely the best way to go.

I hopefully covered the real usefullness by defibrillating 'dead' heart attack victims, beginning with the King who is more than willing to believe after that. I agree it is knowledge one is best to take back. ;)

Oh....the coffee cup gave me inspiration...I will send emissarys to Etheopia to bring back coffee, then build espresso machines, establish coffee houses, and so give the masses something to do and the King something else to tax.

hot air balloon, filled with hydrogen? boom! I think you mean blimp sir :hihi:

Well Sir, I have either mis-communicated my intention or you have mis-apprehended it. I take the idea 'balloon' as an airship, and dispence with 'hot air' as the lifting gas and substitute Hydrogen. I also specified a dirigible, which is distincly different from a blimp in that a dirigible has a rigid airframe the same as an airplane. I will of cours power my Hydrogen filled dirigible with electric motors powered by my battery Ark. Making it an Ark Ark Ark...;)

May I then suggest naming your airship "Ye Old Hindenburg"... :)

You may; however naming a new ship after a doom ship is quite the bad form. I shall call all my airships Turtle, followed by suitable denomination, that is to say the First shall be Turtle One Ark Ark Ark (pronounce stacatto as in Popeye's laugh.;) ), and so forth.

I now have my first DC turbine generator in operation at the mill site, and the Bessemer furnace is nearly done down at the smithery. I have won the majority of the favor of those not needing further shocking evidence of my future origin, and quite truthfully told them we must follow the three R's else God will strike them dead. Recycle, Reuse, Reduce, so sayeth the Ark Ark Ark.

Now if you will excuse me, I have a Duchess to rub.

But we're in the middle ages, so the Hindenburg hasn't been named yet...

Yes, I see...good point. Still, as a time traveler it seems a bit of a temporal faux pas. I note with some irony however that the first submarine was named Turtle and eventually sank...ah well, heavy hangs the head that wears the crown. :)
