pgrmdave Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 So, I've been working for a company which publishes cell phone games and I was wondering - does anybody actually play these games? If so, what games do you play on your cell phones, and why do you like them? Quote

pgrmdave Posted November 10, 2006 Author Report Posted November 10, 2006 I don't program the games, I just QA them. And considering I'm 20, still going to school full-time, and on the East Coast, it's a pretty good job :) Quote

I somehow got the impression you were around 40, and a hot-shot UNIX gunslinger slapping together industrial applications in C++, Perl and UNIX scripts for somebody like General Electric (prolly the jet engine division). pgrmdave 1 Quote
InfiniteNow Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 I play the one that came with my cell all the time. It's addictive! I play it whenever I'm in the back of a meeting which is going slow, or in a cab or whatever... It's called "Bejeweled." Quote
Pyrotex Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 I do love a good computer game, but cell phone games leave me cold.In my old cell phone, there was one game, basically a shooter: I could raise and lower my ship on the left, and I could shoot at random bogies that crept in from the right. I played it maybe half a dozen times. My current cell phone, a lovely Nokia "candybar" has maybe 5 games on it. There are three main reasons I do not play them:(1) The instructions are cryptic (I was only able to figure out how to play 2 of the games.)(2) The games I did figure out (and played) were too trivial and boring beyond tears.(3) The interface (slick, rounded buttons smaller than a fingertip) sucks. Jay-qu Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 I used to play snake and space impact on the old nokia's, or the memory game - they where good for a few mins of entertainment when bored.. on my new phone I only have 1 game, prince of persia (no good and the loading is nearly as boring as just sitting there doing nothing!) I have to download any others which I just havent bothered doing. Quote
