Talanum46 Posted December 5 Report Posted December 5 There are quantum numbers like C-parity that seems not to be conserved. Why are they created then? Quote
OceanBreeze Posted December 5 Report Posted December 5 Aren’t all quantum numbers conserved in Strong interactions? If so, then all of the quantum numbers must exist (be created in your words). Are you suggesting that Isospin, for example, should not exist because it is not conserved in Weak reactions? Should it only be created when there is a Strong reaction? I think it is more logical to list all of the quantum numbers that are conserved in Strong interactions, then shorten the list for EM and Weak interactions. Very possibly I am completely misunderstanding the point of your question. Quote
Talanum46 Posted December 6 Author Report Posted December 6 (edited) If all quantum numbers are conserved in Strong Interactions then there must be a third particle in Pi-minus decay, and it does not carry mass or spin, only a miniscule energy. I call it "L^0". It carries C-parity, Parity, Hypercharge, Color + Anti-color and X-charge. Edited December 6 by Talanum46 Quote
OceanBreeze Posted December 6 Report Posted December 6 I have no idea what you are doing now, so I will just make this one last installment and then I must leave this thread. You appear to be making up your own version of particle physics when you say “If all quantum numbers are conserved in Strong Interactions then there must be a third particle in Pi-minus decay” I don’t see the logic since Pi-minus decay is a Weak interaction. In weak interactions P, C and T symmetries are not conserved separately. However, according to the CPT Theorem, CPT is conserved as a Multiplicative quantum number, even in a Weak interaction. This is as close as I can get to relating to your ad hoc creation that “carries C-parity, Parity, Hypercharge, Color + Anti-color and X-charge” Since I know of no such thing, and you more or less admit to imagining it, I cannot comment any further and I may have to close this thread along with a few other threads of yours that are based only on your hyperactive imagination. This forum is under no obligation to allow you to use it to blog your personal theories. Quote
