I am curious if this following experiment would work properly to test for SR effects.

It is a simple apparatus.

8 clocks in syncronization.

One rotating wheel.

The rotating device holds 4 clocks.

Each clock is placed on the outside of the wheel that is able to spin. Each of the 4 clocks is positioned at 90 degrees from center axle of the wheel. As to imagine a clock on the end of arm of a cross +

The remaining 4 clocks are posistioned at specific areas at rest relative to the earth. (the reason for more clocks is to avoid error or vairiables between just two clocks.

Now the main point of the experiment.

The clocks on the wheel are spun at very high velocities. As much as we can safely engineer. Then we let the apparatus sit and operate for days, weeks, or a month.

Then we compare the 4 clocks with the other 4 clocks and measure for time dilation.

Will the G-force act like acceleration and put the clocks under a fake acceleration to cause them to dilate time?

Also, including the velocity relative to the other clocks?

If we were able to put these clocks under 50 g's for a long period of time a significant time dilation would be possible would it not?

Or would this not be the same as covering overal distance?

I moderate different forums than Qfwfq and Erasmus and Pyrotex for a reason...

...but I presume that since the dilation is relative to something (such as an observer on Earth), and those spinning clocks are still stationary relative that earth based observer, the spinning would have no measurable dilation effect. (They'd have to be moving toward or away to doppler, maybe :hihi: )

However (again, am guessing here), if you compared the center of the rotation to the outer arms of the rotation, then there would likely be a measurable (relative) dilation.

To be taken with a grain of salt. :hyper:
