I had an idea the other day how great it would be if my camera had a GPS device integrated to it so when i snap a photo it would record the exact location. I could then upload the photos into some refit of google maps where it would share all the photos with locations with the world - and i could check out the path of my trip taken as i was snapping the photos. Anyone could check the exact location and see which photo were taken nearby .. it would be sort of a snapshot of the world from all the cameras of the world! it almost seems to me inevitable that cameras will have this sort of functionality.

After i got my idea i googled it and to my surprise (or maybe not surprised lol) there is a camera out there like that:

GeoSpatial Experts - Geolocate your photos!

So why isnt it so popular? .. ok maybe price lol .. imagine if all the photos on flickr had a GPS location associated to it! everyday we go without this technology we are loosing this amazing data we could be capturing. With an added digital compass and some sort of way of capturing the angle at which the photo was taken you could exactly know where each photo was taken and could easily reproduce the photo in the future. People 100 years from now could be browsing a massive repository off all the photos taken in the past, comparing how things have changed as time passed by in each location a photo was taken.

So lets get this thing on the road is what i say! :reallyconfused:
