Stargazer Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 Apparently it's too expensive to repair Hubble, even if it's done by remote controlled robots. Plans are therefor to deorbit the telescope and focus on the next generation of telescopes, such as the James Webb Space Telescope. I agree with this decision, actually, but only because there's not enough money for both telescopes. I would like to see additional funding for Hubble as well as the JWST, since it would give astronomers more telescope time with telescopes of such high capacities.
