My lappy recently garbaged out, so I'm using a loaner. Problem is, I had my wireless router programmed to the MAC address of the other pc only. I tried to go to the Linksys Admin site to add the MAC of the loaner, but keep getting a page cannot be displayed. My guess is that it has something to do with the firewall/security settings, but I'm not sure which.

address I'm trying to reach is the Linksys Admin panel: 192.168.1.1

error = page cannot be displayed

Any thoughts on how I can resolve this w/o checking w/ my IT buddy in the morning?

You're connecting through a wire directly into the router when you're doing this, right? There should be two sockets, one in for admin and one out for the uplink to the modem. Be sure you are connecting to the right one.

Its possible that the default subnet has been changed to either 192.168.0.* or 10.0.0.*, so you should try the .1 addresses for each.

Looks like you can get to the internet though, I'd recommend going to the Linksys site and downloading the manual....

Good luck Mr. Phelps! :weather_storm:

Seems I just needed a swift kick in the ***. I forget to go from modem to router, and went from modem to pc. :weather_rain:
