ryan2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 The evaporation process is a part of understanding the oxygen producers. Trees make oxygen by sucking up vast amounts of water and evaporating the Oxygen so we can breath. Carbon dioxide from fuel emmissions is good for the air? Since trees breath carbon dioxide and we breath oxygen. Weeping willows suck up a lot of water are they good or bad during a drought? Quote

Like any system, too much of one part of the system will through it out of balance. Not sure about the weeping willows, I will have to leave that to someone with more knowledge than I;) Quote

There is no change in the chemistry of the liquid, just in its heat energy. Evaporation is not an important part of producing oxygen--you may be thinking of "photosynthesis". Trees make oxygen by sucking up carbon dioxide and absorbing light from the sun. The light is turned into chemical energy which is used to break the carbon dioxide up into various carbon-compounds and oxygen, which we breath. Carbon dioxide is not good for the air because it raises the carbon dioxide levels so much faster than typical biological processes, such as decomposition and breathing (respiration). Weeping willows die during a drought, so they neither help nor make worse the drought. Quote
