IDMclean Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 Mood: :xx:   :hihi: I mean to discuss what a private individual is, and what their rights are regarding this afforded status. I would ask that we identify where we come from (the nation at least). As laws vary from nation to nation. What is Private property, and what is it's implicit and explicit functions in our societies? What is Privacy, and why is it important? What is it's implicit and explicit functions? Are there alternatives to these things? If not, why? What does it mean to be a private entity, what responsibilities does that entail and how do you enforce them? Secondary, What powers are affored by the status of private? Quote
Zythryn Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 I think one of the best definitions of the parameters of private rights is 'your rights end where my nose begins'. I think privacy is very important to us as creatures. Yes, we are social creatures, but we also need private time to recharge, as being social drains energy (mental/emotional energy, not physical energy, especially for us introverts:)). I don't have a good, simple definition of privacy. To me it is kind of like good art. I know it when I see it:) Unfortunately, also like art, the idea of privacy seems very subjective and varies from person to person. Quote
infamous Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 Privacy: The right of every individual to choose who and what penetrates his personal domain. A right which I cherish with extreme bias...........Infy Quote
