Some bad dudes, indeed. I have palpable disgust at the actions in which they were engaged. Here they are now, getting ready to act as sacrificial lambs to satisfy the blood lust of the population. Get the ropes ready and pick up your executioners cloak from the dry cleaners... here we go again:

BBC NEWS | Middle East | 'Chemical Ali' sentenced to hang

A cousin of the late Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein has been sentenced to death by an Iraqi court for the murder of some 180,000 Kurds in 1988.

<...>

Shaheen Mahmud, a Kurdish civil servant in the northern city of Sulaimaniya, said news of the death sentences had made him shout with joy.

"I was ecstatic... but the bigger joy would be to see Majid executed in Kurdistan [northern Iraq]," he told Reuters news agency.

* And therefore--?

# A witch!

I was shocked at how quickly it all happened. They sure don't mess around over there. In my country - convicted folks sentenced to death stay in a cell 10+ years before their day finally comes. I can't imagine the cost to tax payers.

I respect the no-nonsense expedient approach. If you're going to do something - just do it already. Americans like to drag things out and make things complicated.

In the words of Hunter Thompson, "Anything worth doing is worth doing right."

(Although I believe he was referring to a road trip from LA to Vegas - requiring a convertible with a trunk full of drugs and alcohol.)

It's sad when we kill one of our own. He was an evil bastard though.

Yeah, well.

An expedited legal process is one thing. Completely and utterly nullifying any possibility of appeal is yet another, sadly.

While purchasing a new bed for my guest bedroom yesterday, the woman at the register was describing to me how many people go through her line communicating in just grunts and moans.

Fortunately, they weren't hanging anyone for not having exact change. :cheer:

...It is hard to feel sympathy for the man. He has after all been a dictator for many years and has plenty of blood on his hands.

...

It's hard to feel sorry for Bush, too, and HE has plenty of blood on HIS hands.

Take that to its logical conclusion.
