Two important points :

1° if you send this post from somewhere out of France, the zip-code should be preceded by an F (in the case of France). (The characters used are the same as those for the nationalty codes with motor car registration plates)

2° you should indicate the country (line below zipcode and locality)

So this amounts to :

13, rue Gayon

F 34500 BEZIERS

France

or

Cathedrale St. Nazaire

Plan des Albigeois

France

 

(The first adres would actually put your letter in the hands of the parish priest in charge of the cathedral; I have no idea in whose hands the postman will deliver your letter with the second adres : cathedrals rarely have a letterbox to deliver the mail in.)

First is a post office box, and has to be picked up, second is a street adress and very useful if you intend to visit the place.

"Bouches du Rhône" is the "département" (comparable to the states in the US, but the number 13 starting the zip-code refers to the département.
