Kakorat2 Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 I need help on writing the address correctly on my envelope. Here it is: Bonjour, L'adresse de la cathédrale est: Plan des Albigeois 34500 Béziers ou Paroisse Saint-Nazaire 15 Rue Gayon 34500 Béziers Translation into English:Hello, The address of the cathedral is: Plan of the Albigensian one 34500 Béziers or Holy parish nazaire 15 Streets Gayon 34500 Béziers Quote
InfiniteNow Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 Bonjour, Le format d'address pour vous: FRANK'S COMPULSIVE GUIDE TO POSTAL ADDRESSESFrench addresses are straightforward. A typical example... Bienvenue sur la Poste.fr – envoi de courrier et de colis, services financiers Sante. :( Quote
eric l Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 Two important points :1° if you send this post from somewhere out of France, the zip-code should be preceded by an F (in the case of France). (The characters used are the same as those for the nationalty codes with motor car registration plates)2° you should indicate the country (line below zipcode and locality)So this amounts to :Paroise St Nazaire13, rue GayonF 34500 BEZIERSFranceorCathedrale St. NazairePlan des AlbigeoisF 34500 BEZIERSFrance (The first adres would actually put your letter in the hands of the parish priest in charge of the cathedral; I have no idea in whose hands the postman will deliver your letter with the second adres : cathedrals rarely have a letterbox to deliver the mail in.) eric l Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 two possibilities : Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer Tourist OfficeB.P. 73F 13732 SAINTES-MARIES-DE-LA-MERFrance orSaintes-Maries-de-la-Mer Tourist Office5, avenue Van GoghF 13732 SAINTES-MARIES-DE-LA-MERFrance First is a post office box, and has to be picked up, second is a street adress and very useful if you intend to visit the place."Bouches du Rhône" is the "département" (comparable to the states in the US, but the number 13 starting the zip-code refers to the département.I hope this will be useful.
