actually, its the other way around:

E=gamma mc^2

since gamma is infinity for a photon,

m=E/gamma C^2

the mass is zero! :)

well, stay on topic please.

and... i was teasing on the other post :)

of course tim! so you understand, right? that's what i meant. the only alternative to infinite mass is no mass at all. Since everything in the universe must have mass, then does light exist in the physical universe? I don't think so, although we can see light, ones on the range that our eyes can see.

ok. next, the faster we go, the dimension that is in the direction of movement contracts. so EMW contracts to zero. Now, since volume is width * height * depth, and that one of those dimensions is zero, then EMW occupies no volume of space. Does it exist in the physical universe?

From a Christian standpoint, is God good because He's God, or is goodness/evil above God?

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to say this:

God is a all and powerful being or state of exsistance, He created the heaven, the earth, the sea...you know all this, but he also created the angels, and he LET one of his angels FALL from heaven to earth. Can u guess which one? His name was Lucifer. SO common logic says that God created the Devil, and in essence evil, along with his good.

To me this seems the show that god is incapible of evil onto us, or complete good. It is our minds that make good and evil. To god, we are all the same. As people we see good and evil, as black and white...god sees good and evil as the nothing. DO u understand what i think? The bible even says that god loves us all, so to him everyone is the same. God is incapable of good/evil acts...only acts of love. And everyone has their own beliefes of love...

With High Regards,

I don't know. I don't know whether or not it does help others, or whether or not that could be proven, but I do believe, without proof, that prayer helps one focus internally, which, assuming my other ideas were right, would allow one to understand god to a greater degree. That only works if my other ideas are correct, but it makes sense to me, so I believe it.

So how is this so fundamentally different than what I am trying to understand about Chi and Feng Shui ??

Other than 1 is the one you were brought up with, and the other seems foreign? :hihi:

I am looking over this thread.

Believing without proof huh?

That doesn't sound like scientific method to me that you seem so strict about.:)

Don't get me wrong. I like your discussions P-Dave:) . But I tend to find hypocrisy in most peoples statements eventually.

one of those Lawyer Genes in me...:)

Wow...this is an old thread (I think it was my first!). My beliefs have changed a bit, I no longer see a real distinction between humans and any other grouping of atoms, except that we have a system of complex looping feedback (our brains). Which has led me to assume that prayer is much like meditation - it focuses the brain on a single thing. And I was brought up an atheist, not a christian.

sorry p-dave.

I misinterpretted this... my bad. :phones:

I tend to find ,from experience, that Christians almost too quickly dismiss other schools of thoughts. I have several straight and narrow Christian buddies.

I am "open" to the Possibility of IT as well; but I find Buddhism more interesting and sagacious :evil:

Speaking of Buddhism;

It's a common misperception that they worship a God.

When it is in fact about Internal, and Intellectual development. :lol:

(although there is a deep respect for the wise elders that came before)

Sorry if I think you seem to be a fundamental Christian, hiding behind some science pgrmdave...:eek:

It kinda' seems that way with some of your posts :eek2:

Some Dude asked the Buddha:

"Are you a God or a Man?"

Buddha replied: "I am awake"
