skuzie Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Creating music for me is like playing with lego, or programming a piece of software, or trying to brain-storm about an idea. Its a mental exercise that keeps you sharp and enriches you - its candy for the brain whether your creating it or listening to it that is why we enjoy it so much. I've been composing my own tunes for several years now and i love it, my grandma was a big inspiration to me back when i was very young, she was a well respected piano teacher back in Poland. That is why i enjoy the piano so much but i also picked up an electronic music vibe over the years. wine and Monomer 2 Quote

CraigD Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 I like the sound of your neighbourhood CraigD! Out of interest, how well did your son do at school with his other subjects?Alas, no. To my wife and my chagrin, around the 8th grade, he started doing very poorly in school, and really disliking it. He dropped out of school at the age of 16, obtained a GED diploma as soon as legally possible, and enrolled in the music program of a community college. After discovering firsthand the difficulties of a making a living performing music, and several dismal dayjobs, a couple of years ago he’s began working in a public special education school, and considering returning to school to become a special ed teacher. He still plays a lot of music, mostly heavy metal with groups, and cello for personal entertainment. He continues to have only a casual interest in Science, and the amazing ability to learn and complete forget basic algebra within the same 24 hour period. :eek_big: Quote
anglepose Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 :hihi: resons why I and the rock band im in study music:1.we love to play it2.sounds great 3.loads of money 4.loads of babes B) 5.something to be remembered by.... I beleive other kids should study music becuase society needs something to enjoy or relax or hyp over music can provide all of those. People should study music as it is a fun and intresting way of making a living and you might if your lucky hit the jack pot. I play quite a few instruments like the bass, guitar, clarinet, and the odd bit on piano and drums. My bands leader is a whizz at composing and although the recording is a bit bodged you can here one of the songs he composed (age 13) on our site noaccess's site ;) ps.
