BibleBeliever Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 Thanks for the pleasant greeting I read when I found your site on Google. I was looking for a forum where I could discuss religion in a scientific setting, not that I am a scientist I only have a HNC in engineering, that's one down from a degree if you haven't heard of it. But the forum I am a member af is all Christian and we tend to have the same discussions over and over. I'm not here to force my beliefs on anyone, honestly! I would like to be available to answer questions if you have any about Christianity and the bible, which I have read a lot and study each day. And I would like to delve deeper into the mind of those who are opposed to religion / God / creation as a science. Not to attack but so when I come across arguments or questions in my daily life (which includes street preaching and witnessing) I may be able to give a better answer than 'But God said it'. I will stay out of the very scientific threads, they are not for me, though I do like to learn about cosmology and some other subjects, but any that relate to 'religion' I would be pleased to join in on, if for no other benefit to you all than to give a different perspective. Oh, and if there are any other Christians on site, I would like to meet them. Looking forward to some interesting threads, Steve. Quote
InfiniteNow Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 Well hello, Steve, I must say your Username will cause you some grief here. We are a science forum with a side area for religion, not a religion forum with a place for science... However, we do appreciate insights from multiple backgrounds and perspectives. You'll do fine here if you understand that your beliefs are your own and they will be challenged. Stay off the soapbox, and enjoy your stay. :lightning Cheers. Quote
BibleBeliever Posted January 16, 2007 Author Report Posted January 16, 2007 Thanks, I gave myself that name so I won't surprise anyone, I like to come clean from the beginning, it's not meant to be a threat or a bait. Oh and I'm not clever enough to be able to argue to the nth degree, you will probably see me back out of many a thread, I've just looked at one on Mathematics and already I'm wondering if I'm going to drown. What are the odds on me lasting a couple of months? Quote
infamous Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 What are the odds on me lasting a couple of months? Hang in there BB, as long as you represent yourself like a good neighbor you'll be fine. BTW my friend, I am also a believer but I didn't come here to preach. As long as you don't get behind the pulpit and start preaching you'll have no problem from the majority of our membership........................Welcome to our forums and enjoy..........Infy Quote
kati Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Yeah, I think that there are more Christians in the sciences that you might expect... just joining a forum for such a reason is assuming a bit much, no? Quote
