Racoon Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 Is there a possibility of an inside-out dimension? Theres a possibility of many dimensions. Whats an inside-out dimension? Like Bizarro to Superman? Quote
wine Posted January 22, 2007 Author Report Posted January 22, 2007 I can't quite grasp what it is but it's probably around here somewhere. Quote
Turtle Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 Is there a possibility of an inside-out dimension? Possibly....well, yes actually. At least that appears to be the case in Buckminster Fuller's geometry. He discusses it at length in Synergetics; here is a free online version:R. Pyrotex Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 Theres a possibility of many dimensions. Whats an inside-out dimension? Like Bizarro to Superman? To be understandable, an inside-out dimension would have to have some kind of mathematical or graphical expression. Otherwise, it makes no more sense than to ask about "purple dimensions" or "cross-legged dimensions" or "marsupial dimensions". For example, one could say that an "inside-out" dimension goes from zero at its extreme ends to infinity in the center. One could construct such a dimension from an ordinary dimension (say, an X-axis) by defining R on the inside-out dimension to be related to X by: R = 1/X. Trouble is, you are looking for a "physical" dimension, not an abstract math dimension. Can't help you with that one. We got what we got, and that's all we got. Three ordinary distance dimensions and a time-like pseudo-dimension. Sorry. Quote
