Leo Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 I'm wondering if quantum mechanics has a particular answer to the Doppler effect on light emitted/absorbed/reflected by accelerated bodies, considering that an accelerated atom is something more complex than just a succession of atoms at different velocities since the atom is subject to influences and perturbations - the incident light being one perturbation more. Is it possible that the production of a single photon undergoes fluctuations during the process, or does it make no sense? Thanks in advance for any hints about a possible finer treatement of this process. Quote
