I don't even know where my watch came from. :soapbox: I've been using it since I can ever remember, and now it's straps are destroyed, it's minute hand is loose, and that makes it essentially useless.

I cant get myself to get a new one though...

I don't know how to edit a poll, but after I already submitted it, I remembered that this crowd might be into pocketwatches.

I hear they are gaining back some popularity.

I've added the an option for pocket watches. ;)

I always wear a watch; I feel kinda lost without it! I got my first one at the age of 12.

I own a rip curl world time watch (pic attached)

I wear it on my left arm (non-dominant) most days of the week, take it off for sport and sleep thats about it - otherwise it goes in the surf and where-ever else I do  Its great

EDIT:: you wont believe unless you look, but take a look at the time originally posted and the time on the watch, after I posted it I looked down and I thought "man it would be weird if they have the same time" and they did! LOL even the arms are out of time in the same position...

I do not wear a watch. I have a cell phone, which I must carry. The cell phone knows what time it is already. As long as I keep it recharged, I don't have to wind it or replace its battery or worry about breaking it when I'm crashing about the place. Also the cell phone knows when the daylight savings time thing happens. Plus I can call people to tell them what to do.

Another benefit: I don't feel sentimental about cell phones, whereas I did about my watches. My watches were always special gifts from someone I loved, and it broke my heart when the watches were lost or broken. Which they invariably were.

Yes, but only very occasionally! Most of the time my cell phone is sufficient to tell me the time of the day or night. Only when I am traveling and I need to check time at brief intervals, that is when I am waiting anxiously, I wear a watch.

So, I have not voted because I do not find an option that fits me :esmoking:

I wear a watch because it's generally a corporate faux pas to whip out the cellie in a meeting, where twisting my wrist quickly doesn't betray my seperation of focus from the speaker.

On the weekends, I'll put it on when I go to the store, but do not wear it in the house, and I take it off when I get home from work as well. :naughty:

Functional bling is the best bling. :esmoking:

Just curious, why is that? I've never heard of a "no watches" policy.

"Entanglement" policy, cabinet factory, finishing department. Two miles of monorail, twenty-two paintbooths, two stain areas, and four sanding. Fun, fun. :0353:

 Pocket watch

However when I used to wear a watch it was upside down on the right or left hand.. no preference.. And my clock at home runs backwards.. Why take the prescribed notion of what is the correct way to wear a watch, who defined those rules?

I don't wear a watch simply because there is no longer a point unless you're trying to present yourself. To me it is dumb to have a cell phone and a watch, the cell phone's time feature is there for a reason.

I'd rather watch.. than wear a watch.. :turtle:

When it comes to doing things.. I have no concept of time.. when I say I'm going to be there.. chances are.. I wont be.. unless I have a need to be there or want to be there.. I'm either gonna be late.. or not turn up at all..!!!

Over the years my friends have come to accept this as me.. and have no expectations whatsoever when it comes to what is favouritly known as "Ashley" time.. I even turn up to work late..

Whats great about it.. is.. when i do actually turn up on time.. everyone notices.. so how many people actually notice that you even turned up at all.. when you turn up on schedule everytime..??

As for the concept of time.. I threw that out the window along time ago.. along with the watch.. or clock.. and decided.. I live for a moment.. a moment you perceive as time..

I always wear a watch on my left wrist and I'm right handed...

I used to not wear a watch, but when I was bored at school I always asked my friend the time, how long was left, etc. Eventually he kind of forced me to buy a watch...

Usually I don't wear a watch unless I have the need to see the exact time (such as exams). Otherwise my sense of time is usually within 5 to 10 minutes of the time so not much need for one.

I have owned several watches in my time.

And have wore'n 'em when I could.

But not in the last 28 years.

two come to mind; One was a present from my parents after their 25th Ann.

The other a pocketWatch My Wife Kathleen had given me on Our wedding day.

Over the years I have developed a self-awareness of where I need to be.

When I did enjoy wearing them I picked the Left, my predominmint hand....

It seems I use my right more for working, and the left for more social endevers.
